The Desert Rocks: A Downhill Ride Along Vistas & Vines
This
South Okanagan bike tour bridges the desert rocks of Canada’s
semi arid desert with the lush vineyards of irrigated hillsides,
all framed in the backdrop of a crystal clear lake, and deep
blue skies. With scenery pleasing to the eye and an inspiration
to the soul explore one of Canada’s scenic wonders,
the Kettle Valley Railway portion of the Trans-Canada Trail
with our guide Ed Kruger. Beginning with a scenic Okanagan
drive to the trailhead in beautiful Naramata, we will travel
along the old rail bed, passing through a high tunnel perched
on a rock face. There’s no uphill pedaling, it’s
downhill all the way via a gradual descent on a wide trail.
We will discover stunning views of the lake, valley and vineyards
to our tour destination on Okanagan Lake. After lunch and
a wine tasting at Hillside Winery we will return to Kelowna
or Penticton.
This 7.5 hour guided tour includes a
24 speed suspension Bike Rental, Guide, Helmet, Lunch, Snacks,
Transport from Kelowna, Water, and Wine Tasting.
Tour departs 8:30 a.m. from Kelowna, returns
about 4:00 p.m. Optional Wine Pairing Dinner available at
the Birch Grill in Kelowna.
